Adding a Blog Post
Blog posts help with local SEO and give returning customers a reason to come back. Here's how to add one.
TODO: Content Director — Replace this placeholder with a step-by-step walkthrough including screenshots. Cover both "publish now" and "schedule for later" paths.
What you'll do
- Open the Blog collection in your admin.
- Click New Post.
- Write a title, slug (URL), summary, and body.
- Add a featured image.
- Choose Save Draft, Publish, or Schedule.
Fields explained
Title
The headline of your post. Aim for 50–60 characters.
Slug
The end of the URL. Auto-generated from the title — only change it if you want to.
Summary
A 1–2 sentence pitch that shows up in category pages and search snippets.
Body
The post itself. Supports rich text, headings, images, lists, and links.
Featured image
The thumbnail that shows on the blog index and social previews.
Categories / Tags
TODO: Content Director — Document the categorization model once finalized.
SEO tips
- Include your city or neighborhood in the title if it's relevant.
- Use H2 and H3 headings to break up sections.
- Add alt text to every image — see Uploading Images.
Publishing vs scheduling
- Save Draft — keeps the post private; only you can see it.
- Publish — goes live immediately.
- Schedule — pick a future date/time; the post auto-publishes then.
