Uploading Images

This guide covers uploading images, adding alt text, and using them across your site.

TODO: Content Director — Replace with a step-by-step walkthrough. Cover bulk upload, alt text, image replacement, and image cropping/focal point.

Quick upload

  1. In your admin, open Media.
  2. Click Upload.
  3. Drag-and-drop one or more files, or click to pick.
  4. Fill in Alt Text for each (one short sentence describing what's in the photo).
  5. Save.

TODO: Content Director — Insert screenshot of the Media upload screen.

Formats and sizes

  • Best formats: JPG (photos), PNG (logos with transparency), WebP (modern small).
  • Hero/banner images: 1600px wide minimum.
  • Service/product cards: 800px wide.
  • Logos: SVG or PNG with transparent background.

We compress and resize automatically — you don't need to pre-optimize.

Alt text

Alt text is required. It:

  • Tells search engines what the image is.
  • Makes your site accessible to screen readers.
  • Helps you find images later.

A good alt text is short and descriptive: "Outdoor seating area with string lights and wooden tables."

Replacing an image

To swap one image for another without changing where it shows up:

  1. Open the image in Media.
  2. Click Replace File.
  3. Upload the new version.

Everywhere the image is used will update.

Tips

  • Use real photos of your business — they outperform stock everywhere.
  • Crop to landscape (16:9) for hero images.
  • Keep file sizes under 2MB before upload.
